The US president has previously suspended the issuance of licenses for new offshore wind farms and criticized wind energy as an expensive and unreliable form of energy.
He said they were killing all the birds. During a joint press conference with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Scotland, Trump criticized the Green Transition, which involves phasing out fossil fuels, and said wind energy in particular was the most expensive of all forms of energy.
"Wind is a disaster. It destroys the beauty of your fields, your plains, your waterways, and if you look over there, there are no windmills. But if you look in the other direction, you will see windmills," the US President said. He added that he had restricted windmills in the US, so they also kill all the birds.
In August, Danish energy company Ørsted suspended construction of a nearly completed offshore wind farm in the United States due to interference from the Trump administration.
The Revolution Wind project in Rhode Island, costing about $1.5 billion, was 80 percent complete and was scheduled to be operational next year, powering 350,000 homes in Rhode Island and Connecticut.
