Posted on 09/05/2024

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry confirmed the information that two Ukrainians killed in Germany were servicemen undergoing treatment in Bavaria after being wounded in the combat zone.

A high-profile double murder occurred on April 27 in the city of Murnau am Staffelsee, where two Ukrainians, 37 and 23 years old, were found fatally stabbed on the territory of a shopping center.

“According to preliminary data, the dead citizens were soldiers undergoing medical rehabilitation in Germany. Ukrainian consuls are clarifying in which units the deceased served and are contacting their families.”

Diplomats also confirmed that a Russian suspected of committing the murder has been detained.

The press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry added that Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba instructed to pay special attention to this case and “remain in constant contact with German law enforcement agencies so that the killer is punished to the fullest extent of the law.” He also expressed gratitude to German law enforcement agencies for the quick arrest of the suspect.
