The Russian Federation did not achieve significant success in the east in April, despite a large number of attacks – British intelligence

Posted on 12/05/2024

Russian attacks in eastern Ukraine intensified in April, up 17 percent from March. More than three-quarters of them occurred on the front in the Avdeevka, Vremenny Yar and Maryinka areas.

The British Ministry of Defense reported this on the social network X with reference to intelligence data.

It is noted that the number of attacks in the Temporary Yar area increased by 200 percent from March to April. This almost certainly reflects renewed Russian attempts to gain control of the town, located high up to the west of Bakhmut, British intelligence said.

Despite a significant increase in attacks in this direction, Russia achieved only minor tactical gains in the area in April and almost certainly suffered heavy losses, the summary says.
